Happy 2013!

Happy 2013!

We had a great time vacationing in Denmark over Christmas and the New Year's holiday, and we got a lot of wedding planning done!

First of all, the biggest and most exciting news everyone has been waiting for: THE CASTLE!

We finally visited the castle ourselves in December and saw it for the first time. Soren's parents were nice enough to have visited the castle for us earlier in the year and made reservations for this special day. They sent us lots of pictures of the castle, but nothing is as exciting as seeing it with your own eyes!

The castle is Næsbyholm, located in Næsby, around 5 km outside of Sorø on Sjælland (Zealand). Næsbyholm was built by Steen Brahe and Birgitte Rosenkrantz in 1585 although they only lived there briefly. It was later bought by King Frederik IV in 1709 for his mistress Charlotte Helene Von Schindel, who lived in luxury as the countess Næsbyholm and the surrounding estates. Recently, Næsbyholm has also been used as a set of a new TV series!

For all the international guests, we'll be providing transportation to and from the castle for the wedding.

We'd like everybody to have as much fun as possible on the night of the wedding and we have therefore made arrangements for all of us to spend the night at the castle and have brunch together in the morning. A double room is DKK 1100 (HKD 1527, USD 198) and, depending on preference, can be set up with separate or joined beds. There are also a few rooms with space for three people. Due to the layout of the castle (it's old!), there are mostly double rooms available in and around the main building, so contact us for more information if you have special requests.

Please contact Soren to arrange payment and in order for us to minimize any transaction fees for our foreign guests. We will do our best to pair friends and families in the same room.

If you do not intend to spend a night at the castle, please let Soren know as soon as possible.

For our international guests staying in Copenhagen prior to the wedding, we have found a few hotel options there as well and will post them soon for you to select and plan your trip.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

'Till then!

Angela and Soren
